A properly dimensioned solar self-consumption residential system covers a house basic electricity consumption needs (refrigerator, freezer, alarm systems, pumps, electrical boilers and appliances on standby). The solar photovoltaic system covers the main daytime electricity needs and only uses the public grid for the night-time consumption.

The most interesting residential self-consumption systems are the ones that integrate energy storage using lithium batteries, which allows a higher energy autonomy covering also the home’s night-time consumption.
